Question 1

How long a delay do I need before I can claim?

Accepted Answer

On flights of up to 3,500 km, you need to reach your final destination at least three hours late. On longer flights the threshold is four hours, while a long-haul flight landing three to four hours behind schedule still earns a reduced €300.

Question 2

How old can a flight be and still qualify?

Accepted Answer

Three years in most of the countries we cover, and longer under some national laws. The check costs nothing, so send us an older flight instead of assuming it is too late.

Question 3

Does a cheap ticket on a budget airline affect my claim?

Accepted Answer

No. The regulation takes no account of your fare. Passengers flying Ryanair or Wizz Air can claim €250 to €600, exactly like those on a national flag carrier.

Question 4

The airline says bad weather caused the delay. Can I still claim?

Accepted Answer

Only weather that truly made your particular flight unsafe lets the airline off. We look up historical weather and air traffic records for that airport and time, and a surprising share of these refusals turn out to be winnable claims.

Question 5

What am I expected to do myself?

Accepted Answer

Enter your flight details and sign the authorisation using a finger or mouse. That is all: we handle every step after that.

Question 6

Why do I have to sign a power of attorney?

Accepted Answer

Airlines deal only with passengers themselves or someone they have formally authorised. Your digital authorisation allows us to pursue compensation on your behalf. It applies to this single claim, and you can revoke it whenever you want.

Question 7

Can I submit a claim for family members or colleagues?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Include everyone on the booking in a single form. Each passenger signs a separate authorisation and is paid their own compensation.

Question 8

How can I follow the progress of my claim?

Accepted Answer

We email you each time your claim reaches a new stage, and your dashboard shows its current status at any hour. You will hear about every development.

Question 9

How much does FlyClaim charge?

Accepted Answer

Our fee is 35% of the compensation we secure, taken from the payout. Should the case need to go to court, an extra 5% is added to cover the litigation. If nothing is recovered, you owe nothing.

Question 10

Do you charge anything upfront or hide extra costs?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no sign-up fee, no administration fee and no charge if you withdraw your claim. We pay for lawyers and court costs, whatever the outcome.

Question 11

When and how will I get my money?

Accepted Answer

We transfer it to the bank account of your choice, normally three to five working days after the airline pays us. You will get an email as soon as the funds come in.

Question 12

In which currency is the compensation paid?

Accepted Answer

Compensation amounts are fixed in euro. We can pay you in euro, or switch it into your local currency using the interbank rate of the transfer day, whichever you prefer.
